Global Certification Society (GCS) is an independent organic inspection and certification body, registered under the Himachal Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2006 on 13 June 2012, with its head office in Palampur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India.
GCS is accredited by the International Organic Accreditation Service (IOAS), Contract No. 342, to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 for Regulation (EU) 2018/848, Categories D (processed agricultural products, including aquaculture products, for use as food) and E (feed), geographical scope India, effective 10 September 2026. GCS has applied to the European Commission for recognition under Article 46 of Regulation (EU) 2018/848.
In India, GCS is accredited by the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, under the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) [accreditation suspended w.e.f. 01/10/2025; reinstatement requested], and is approved as a Regional Council under PGS-India by the National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (NCONF), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare.
